Dura delivers unique workshop solution for flagship Mercedes-Benz service centre

On 15th December, Como Bercy Mercedes-Benz will officially open the doors of its flagship dealership in the heart of Paris, leaving their existing home of over 28 years to re-locate to one of Europe's largest Mercedes dealerships and service centres.

Formed over 5 beautifully considered levels that span a total of over 13000m2, the new Mercedes-Benz Paris workshop is the end result of nearly 2 years of planning and over €10 million worth of investment. For the new centre the Como group aspired to create a facility that combined contemporary and cutting edge design with automotive passion to deliver an unforgettable customer experience through each stage of the sales process.

As part of this unique presentation, the service centre formed an integral part of this customer experience and needed to be somewhere that they could be proud for their customers to see. They also wanted to ensure that the centre was built around the individual requirements of each technician, complying with the prestige standards that Mercedes-Benz set for their servicing departments.

To ensure these levels were exceeded, Dura worked hand in hand with their French distributor, Sacatec, to deliver a workshop that perfectly utilized the space available within each of centres 34 work bays. As the Como group were extremely passionate about creating an open plan environment, Dura integrated a series of bespoke low level cabinet runs to give the workshop an airy and spacious interior.

We then worked with the Sacatec installation team to ensure the finish of the workshop was seamless, incorporating custom built rear covers on the back of each run of cabinets to conceal integrated air, water and oil services. Each run of cabinets were then strategically placed throughout the service centre to guarantee that all of the underground services were worked carefully up through the base of the required cabinet.

Once complete, the new workshop provided Mercedes-Benz Paris with a fit out that re-defined workshop standards and worked effortlessly around the underground nature of the service centre. When asked about how the installation of the new dealership had progressed, Como Group President Osama Kaddoura had this to say,

We wanted to offer a modern workshop and an AMG equivalent to that of a Formula 1 team. The implementation of this concept is directly linked to nearly 40 years of expertise, professionalism and innovation for our customers and the Mercedes-Benz and AMG brands within the Como group. It's an ambitious transformation that will enable us to provide a new premium service outside the norm.
