Dura and Audi partnership continues with major flagship project in Denmark.
Here at Dura nothing excites us more than the challenge of a major workshop development and a project that will truly use all of our expertise and the capabilities of our system to the full. Such a challenge was presented to us in the spring of 2008 by Lennart Petersen, Project Manager of the planned Audi Terminal in Fredericia, Denmark, a development belonging to Semler Audi Detail.
Working in partnership with our Danish distributor, V Loewener AS, Dura’s project planning team produced design layout proposals for the service workshop, direct reception area, express workbays and for the bodyshop, which as well as the standard Dura cabinets also included custom made products developed to the specific request of Audi Fredericia.
In order to achieve visual consistency throughout all service areas we produced specialist workbenches and storage cabinets for the bodyshop, “false” cabinets to enclose gas installations, and custom made technicians tool trolleys with retractable rear tool storage panels. Dura also worked in co-operation with suppliers of the oil equipment ( our partner V Loewener ) , lifts and electrical and data contractors to build in all services and controls into the Dura cabinets and wall panels to give a totally integrated look.
Final installation was carried out by V Loewener with technical support from Dura head office staff and was completed within the required time frame for the dealer opening. Thanks go to the great team at V Loewener headed by Ole Kristensen and Peter Savioli who worked with us to ensure the successful conclusion of the project.
Lennart Petersen said “ We worked with Dura and their Danish partner V.Loewener AS to include the Dura workshop furniture in the Fredericia project. In addition to the standard Dura workshop cabinets, many special items were supplied to accommodate our specific requests, such as special wall panels, special workbenches for the bodyshop, and special cabinets to enclose other equipment in the workshop. The end effect is truly a world-class workshop that is a showpiece for the after sales operation of Audi Fredericia. From initial design and planning stages right through to installation, our close co-operation with Dura and V.Loewener ensured that the project was completed on time, to budget and to our complete satisfaction”
